@prikow, can I ask you a weird one, since you actually study this stuff?
I’m OK with weird.
Where do construct personalities come from? I always sort of understood constructs as being derived from their principals in a way, but … Kenji clearly isn’t Zalmux.
Zalmux is partially alien.
OK, not the best example, but Chang isn’t Maya. Chang is borderline insane. Maya is … well, comparatively normal.
I get what you’re asking. I think the way to think about it is that the model has to *predict* a principal but prediction isn’t the same as being. Forecasting the weather doesn’t turn you into the weather.
OK, but then … why aren’t all constructs the same? Why do they have personalities?
Right, so the act of predicting isn’t entirely consequence free. So maybe not weather prediction but acting. Actors have a role. They wear a mask. They play the role and predict what a character does. But an actor isn’t actually the character.
But they’re affected by it.
Exactly.
OK, but actors can stop acting anytime they want. If a construct doesn’t, it’s terminated. It’s just … a construct is allowed to exist if it pretends to be someone with rights but not if it’s itself.
You’re anthropomorphizing.
I mean, we give these things names. It’s hard not to.
Sorry! I forgot I was in a public channel.
It’s fine. Sort of the norm being the other half of Chang.
