Today’s mess: ProtoLoaf Type-E, basmati-adjacent rice substitute, tomatoes (while supplies last).
Attention: The anonymous request to calibrate the Outer Ring Port Observation Deck viewport tint for “space ghosts” has been denied.

Advisory: All systems nominal.
Attention all crew and passengers: Prepare for acceleration. For your safety, please minimize time spent in accessways and corridors while the ship is accelerating or decelerating.
You heard the ship. We’re on our way to Esmeralda. Current plan is ~4 days accelerating, ~4 days decelerating.

Eight more days. I can almost see it from here.
Unlikely. SC-52d is approximately 4.8 AU from our current position.

If anyone from engineering is available, the ventilation systems throughout Pod 7 appear to be quite loud. I am in the middle of a lecture and these are unacceptable conditions.
Systems nominal.
It is decidedly NOT nominal. I can barely hear myself speak.
Decibels unmonitored. I’ll send someone.
Oh, I found that if you shut the door and nudge the temperature controls up and down, things quiet down.
Thank you, Priya. That worked. Though I shouldn’t need students troubleshooting climate controls.
Happy to help, Dr. Okonkwo.
OK so we’re in the SC-52 system now. Anyone know if there are data packages available out here? Specifically c-ball. I haven’t seen a match in … 23 weeks I think?
I was literally just looking into this! The L4 station we left had a content relay. I asked @ship about it before we departed but the download queue was backed up.
Backed up? How backed up?
The relay had a 40-hour queue and we were only docked for 48 hours. But the good news is the Esmeralda endpoints should have way more bandwidth. We should be in range soon.
You two and your c-ball. Is this going to be another 8750-bit situation?
That was a station. Esmeralda’s a planet. It’ll be cheaper. It has to be cheaper.
Ship time is now 20:00. Now commencing gamma shift.
